The International Federation of Women Attorneys was founded in 1944 in Mexico City, Mexico an is now a world wide organization having members in over 72 countries. The aims and goals of FIDA is to promote the principles and aims of the United Nations in their legal and social aspects, to enhance and promote the welfare of women and children with focus on education of rights and finally to promote the study on comparative law.

The Grand Bahama chapter to FIDA has continued with these aims by holding education seminars on various topics, assisting in the review and drafting of current laws and educating third parties on the same as well as raising funds for the provision of a scholarship to COB.

It is the newly installed board comprises of Tiffany Dennison as President, Tnisha Tynes as Vice President, Karin Sanchez as Tres., Berlice Lightbourne as Asst. Tres. Lena Hield as Sec and Hadassha Swain as Asst Sec. The combined goal of the new board is to continue with the work of previous boards under the theme "Women in business and society" with a focus of leadership by example. The previous boards have set into motion all of the aforementioned items, and with the assistance of members of FIDA, will continue to do the same and expand upon the previous achievements of FIDA.
